Eco Chic Movement
You know it is autumn when school starts. Forget about the leaves falling, the weather changing, the birds migrating or the fall equinox.
It’s like this every year; there is a buzz in the air, new energy. All the “Back to school” commercials, the “first day of school” photos on Facebook, the talking backpacks on the radio.
And also, every year when school starts the city becomes unbearable, there are crowds everywhere. Going to work becomes a huge patience test with all the traffic jams and all the non existing parking spaces.
So this autumn I’ m nurturing my nerves, I’m choosing alternative transportation. Although I’m a ‘professional walker’, as in when I have to venture myself out of the office I always choose walking, this autumn I’m trying something less time consuming and way more fun.
Ok so maybe a long board is not very practical, but once you learn to ride it is really fun. Also you can use a bike, scooter even roller blades as alternative ways of navigating through the city.
Sometimes I wonder when I see all the cars on Dorobanti Street from 9 to 11 am waiting to pick the kids from school, what example we give to the next generations. We complain about pollution, about the low quality air we breathe, about the illegally cut trees, about climate change and so on. We complain but when it comes to taking measure we don’t. Because even if we are slowly damaging the environment and the future of the next generations..It’s the first day of school people; we must get them a proper society approved education!
So do something, ride a bike, plant a tree, join the green movement and come to V for Verde.
